Terms of Service

These Terms ("Terms") govern your use of the Nouri mobile app (the "App") operated by Brian Chan (the "Operator," "we," "us"). By installing or using Nouri you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the App.

Important — not medical advice Nouri is an informational tool. The analyses it provides are generated by AI and may be inaccurate or incomplete. Nouri is not a substitute for professional medical or dietary advice, especially for severe food allergies. If you have a diagnosed allergy or medical condition, always verify ingredients directly on the product packaging and consult a qualified professional.

§ 01Who can use Nouri

You must be at least 13 years old (or 16 in the EEA) to use Nouri. If you are under the age of majority in your country, you may only use the App with the involvement of a parent or guardian.

§ 02What Nouri does

Nouri lets you scan the nutrition label of a food product with your device's camera, sends that image to an AI model for analysis, and returns a structured summary — ingredients, macronutrients, allergen flags, and whether the product aligns with the dietary preferences you have set in your profile. Nouri also keeps a pantry and scan history for your convenience.

You are responsible for safeguarding access to the device and the Google/Apple account you use to sign in. Notify us promptly if you believe your account has been accessed without your permission.

§ 07Intellectual property

Nouri, the Nouri name, logo, and all code, design, and content in the App are the property of the Operator and are protected by applicable intellectual property laws. These Terms grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the App on your own devices. You retain ownership of the content you submit (such as your dietary profile); you grant us a licence to process that content strictly to provide the App's features.

§ 08Third-party services

The App relies on third parties including Supabase, Google Gemini, RevenueCat, Google Play and Apple App Store. Your use of those services is subject to their own terms. We are not responsible for issues caused by third-party outages or policy changes.

§ 09Disclaimers

The App is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, or non-infringement. We make no warranty that the App will be uninterrupted, error-free, or meet your specific requirements.

§ 10Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, the Operator is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of, or inability to use, the App — including damages for loss of profits, goodwill, data, or other intangibles. Our total liability for any claim arising out of these Terms or the App will not exceed the greater of (a) the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim arose, or (b) USD $50.

Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded by law.

§ 11Indemnity

You agree to indemnify and hold the Operator harmless from claims arising out of your misuse of the App or your violation of these Terms.

§ 12Termination

You can stop using Nouri and delete your account at any time by emailing us. We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these Terms or if running the App becomes commercially or legally unviable. On termination, your licence to use the App ends; relevant sections of these Terms (disclaimers, liability limits, governing law) survive.

§ 13Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be announced in-App. Your continued use of the App after changes take effect is your acceptance of the updated Terms.

§ 14Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Hong Kong SAR, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles. Disputes will be resolved in the courts of Hong Kong, unless your local consumer-protection law gives you the right to bring a claim in your own jurisdiction.
